Has Spring finally arrived? Our Magnolia Stellata was only in bud on Sunday and by Tuesday it was in full bloom, so hopefully it is here and we can put the cold weather behind us.
Caroline and Amanda arrived together followed by Chris. Alison is with her Mum in Scotland.
As usual we started with tea and biscuits. Todays were from Sainburys Taste the Difference range, Belgium Chocolate Chunks and Hazelnuts and Stem Ginger and Chocolate Chunks.
Chris was knitting today, a Bessie May Nettle Wave and Cable Cowl. This is knitted in wool and nettle fibre.
Caroline was stitching the piano key border for her quilt. More about this later.
Amanda was making Shoo Fly blocks. Amanda started this at a Amish Day workshop at The Sewing Shop in Canterbury Kent.
Chris had to leave before lunch to take the Tuesday Puppy Berry to agility.
For lunch we had Jacket Potato with Tuna and Salad, with a dessert of Apple and Apricot Crumble.
After lunch I finished sewing the binding on Lee's Birdhouse quilt.
And Caroline had sewn all the borders on her quilt. This pattern is from the now defunct magazine Modern Quilting, called 'Weaving the Strands' by Joanna Wilczynska.
A close up of the quilt centre.
Some of Amanda's Shoo Fly blocks, can you see the mistake?
Our Magnolia Stellata in bloom.
Until next week....
