April
Today was a foggy start, Alison was the first to arrive and no sooner had the tea been made when Amanda arrive followed quickly by Caroline. Unfortunately, Chris was not well, we hope you feel better soon.
As usual we had cake with our tea, (no photo I'm afraid), we had a Victoria Sponge with Strawberry jam, made using a Mary Berry recipe. This had been made for me by Stephanie.
Then it was down to sewing.
Alison was doing an applique block called Foxglove, this is a on going project called Evening Bloom from a book called Country Inn by Blackbird Designs.
Caroline was making a baby quilt for a friend using 2 1/2" strips.
Amanda was stitching a slash and burn project for the Guildford Embroidery's Guild as part of a project for the Embroidery Guild Regional day. This is Amanda's own design.
I was stitching the binding on a quilt for Stephanie, this was made using New York Makower's fabric and the pattern was the Tiny Turning Twenty.
I also had a show and tell, this was a quilt made with scraps, the pattern is Sparkling Gemstones from the Jelly Roll Quilts book from the Quilt Room.
For lunch we had Italian Herb Chicken with salad and new potatoes, for dessert we had meringue with creme fraiche, raspberries and blueberries.
By the time Alison, Amanda and Caroline were ready to leave the fog had gone and the sun was out and it had turned to be a lovely spring afternoon.
Until next month.
